Dismantling Throttle body

Dismantling Throttle body
I have a 1999 XJR with the AJ26 engine. The butterfly shaft is stiff and will stick sometimes. I am guessing either one of the two ball bearings is starting to seize of the shaft is sticking in the aluminium housing. I would like to pull the shaft, polish it and check the bearings. I have dismantled it removing the accelerator cable end and the two springs that hold thre butterfly open. I have also opened the motor end and removed as much as possible. I am as a loss how to get the bearings and shaft out. I am guessing i use a hydraulic press on the shaft first one way then the other (after removing the butterfly plate). Any help appreciated!
If I can't get it apart then I will probably have send it off to ASI for a rebuild

You may or may not have run across my 98’ XJR throttle body rebuild thread and decided to try it yourself?? Regardless, I just didn’t have the time and patience to take photos because work was really busy and just needed to focus on getting the situation taken care of. Anyways…… I never took the butterfly out as those soft brass fasteners were not really removable without drilling and heat. I replaced 3 of the 5 bearings (2 were not visible if I remember correctly) and it still functions well today with 283k miles. I don’t think I used a press to R&R new bearings. I think I used a small hammer, a couple of cones and maybe (?) a bench vise to get those bearings in and out. If you have any other questions, I’ll answer as soon as I can.

This is the thread I was referring too.
It won’t help you a whole lot but, something in case you haven’t seen it.

thanks for the info addictedtoboost.
I took another look at my throttle body today, there are four bearings and all were stiff due to the grease drying out. No signs of rust or wear in them. I was able to pop off the dust covers and add fresh grease. I used a hypoderrmic adaptor to get the fresh grease well into the bearing. Excersised all the bearings and re- assembled the throttle body. Diference is nght and day, the two springs now easily fully open the butterfly, previously it opened about 30% with the throttle cable pulled fully. The geared end can then close the butterfly. All works smootly.
Bit more work on the car before I can try it out - timing chains and new hoses.
