Go here to the X350 download link and download section #5 Workshop US006 5. Body & Paint PDF and go page 416. That should step you through it.

I have those 3 files on my office computer and just have not transferred them home. Thought someone might have remembered a link to a write up on how to remove them (with tips often not found in the JTIS).

If you are replacing the cable, do not remove the latch. I changed my cable by doing the following.
1. Have window in UP position
2. Disconnect the battery
3. Carefully pry off the little 1/4" round screw cover that holds the interior handle trim
in place.
4. Remove the screw on underside of the arm rest.
5. Use plastic trim removal tools and carefully pry the door panel loose.
6. The wood trim pries and then slides off.
7. Once you have access to the handle remove the old cable.
8. Use a inspection mirror to see how the smaller end of the cable attaches.
9. Once that is attached then attach the other end and reassemble everything.
It took me about an hour since I tried to remove the actual latch and finally figured out that was no necessary.
