I was getting out of my 2000 xj8 a couple of days ago and this happened. Does anyone know how to fix this or where I can buy replacement parts? I was going to just glue it back together but as you can see there are some smaller pieces and if I could the handle back into place then I can't get the bigger plastic piece on properly so I'm a little lost.
If you don't have this site saved, I recommend that you save it. Sometimes it's a little hard to find the part, but everything is there, so you just have to keep digging. The advantage is that once you find the part, you then have a part number, and google or ebay becomes your friend. Looks like the part is still available new, but is kinda pricey. I'm sure you can find one on ebay, or you can always call Jaguar Heaven in California and give them the part number. They will have a salavage part.
Edit: Don't try to glue it, it won't hold. I tried to glue mine when it broke a few years ago, but I ended up buying a new one.
Edit #2: It comes with the chrome handle and cable all as one part. You have to remove the door panel and connect the other end of the cable to the latch mechanism.
