Door won't stay locked

Hi folks,
It's been a while since I've been on here as I recently bought a Range Rover and fixing it has been a full time job. My trusty XJR has finally gotten a problem (first one in the year I've owned it). For a few days, I was noticing the passenger door being unlocked when I came out in the morning. After pushing it down, I could feel some resistance. This morning I noticed it won't lock at all. I can push it all the way down and hold it, but as soon as I release it, it pops back up. My guess might be the door lock actuator as I replaced one in my Jeep previously, but in that car it was making a quacking kind of sound. Not sure if the Jag door locks are activated by air pressure or mechanically with a rod like the Jeep.
Does it sound like an actuator problem or something else?
Thanks,
Jon

Thanks guys. I figured it was the actuator, but just wanted to confirm before I start ordering parts. I've seen a couple of used ones on eBay for about $60-$70, but I'll definitely look at the parts car on the forum.
In the meantime, I'm going to try a bit of WD-40.
Any quirks about changing this part on the XJR? On my Jeep it was a bit of a pain just as far as accessibilty, but the concept is pretty straightforward.
Thanks again.

Hey Orca,
Did you end up swapping out that actuator? I'm finally getting around to ordering the part and wondering how your install went. I've been searching around the forum for a guide, but can't seem to find one and last I checked (granted a while ago...) JTIS didn't work with Vista 64-bit.
Thanks,
Jon
