Default Draught from under the steering wheel!

Got a bit of a draught coming from under the steering wheel.
It's obviously fresh air as the temperature is quite chilly compared to the heater when you're on the motorway.
Can only really notice it at speed too.

It's one of those problems that tends to hit you right between the legs unfortunately!

Anyone got an idea or two?

Bit draughty! Anything amiss in this area?!

Does anyone know if these seals are correctly installed?

I had the same issue on mine, I solved it by covering that grommet with duct tape under the carpet where it can’t be seen and fitting a vinyl shroud inside the plastic shroud to stop air flow.

I'll give that a go then. Much appreciated!

The duct tape was only a temporary experimental measure, when I’ve got some spare time I’ll make a more appropriate shoroud to fit over the grommet and blend better with the carpet. You can’t see it, but I know it’s there and would like it to be neater.

The Steering column shroud was a piece of vinyl cut and fixed to the lower part of the shroud and given enough length to allow it to be fed over the top of the next piece. I drilled holes in the leading edge of the shroud where the rubber strip is and secured the vinyl with two screws and scrivets. It looks really neat and finishes it off nicely. Here’s a photo of the finished article.

You're absolutely right. It roars through there. Not a great feeling with near freezing temperatures on the motorway
