Default Driving an XJR in the winter?

I have my XJR up for sale, as I have no good winter transportation, but the likelihood of it selling anytime soon is slim to none.

My question is, has anyone driven their XJR in the snow? With snow tires, is it even possible? I'm not talking about city driving, either. I drive all rural roads, and have a 60 mile round trip to work every day. How do these cars handle in the snow on snow tires?

I drove an XJR with snow tires during the winter in all sorts of snow. Performed great. Tons of fun as well.
I put narrower XJ8 wheels on the rear, 215/60/16.

Was that city or rural driving? What tires did you use on the front?

Mostly rural, western NY. Snow tires on the front as well, but on the stock 18's. I found out AFTER I bought the 16" XJ8 wheels that they won't clear the front XJR brakes. 225/45/18 would be a good size for the stock 18's. Narrower yet same circumference.

I have only driven mine through one winter a few years back. It was on Summer Performance tires...a bit nerve racking but I did it!

However this will be the second winter she has gone through and I purchased Goodyear Eagle Sport Ultra High Per All Season...Ill let everyone know how it goes..

Well, it looks like it can be done, then. Boy, I hate to expose her to all the salt on the roads, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

Unfortunately...I just wash mine VERY frequently(usually daily on the no-touch washers)

I'm in northern UK and although we don't get as much snow as you guys the ice here can be difficult. I just use decent winter tyres and have no problems.

I've only got the puny 3.2 litre, but any X308 is powerful enough that you can _make_ a nasty problem for yourself in low-grip conditions.

This'll be my fourth winter with the Jag, and I think it's excellent. The laws of physics apply and a set of winter tyres helps, but it's got decent weight distribution and traction control, so it's not vicious (unlike the old BMWs and Mercedes I used to drive).

And when there's an empty car park just press "Trac off" for a bit of fun.

I've started a new thread on the tires that are currently on my Jag, but I thought I'd ask here, also.

My XJR has Cooper Zeon RS3-A tires, which are an all-season tire. Does anyone have any experience with these tires in the winter? How do they handle in the snow? Buying new snow tires is not an option for me at this time.

For a rear wheeler, my vdp is great in the snow with ordinary all season high performance z-rated tires - don't expect anything near a fwd experience, but certainly drivable
