Easy Fix
This has to be the quickest fix yet had a Po356 fault bad coil #6. undo 6 bolts holding cover over coils then remove 2 bolts holding coil in place takeing care to remove plug on coil. then replace with new coil plug in reinstall. job done....
so now my question is should I replace the rest of the coils, or is it a case of IF it aint broke don't fix it thanks JRB53

These coils don't like being messed about with any more than is necessary
and you need to be doubly careful with the wiring harness and connectors
as they heat harden with age.
A couple little tricks with these is to remove the boot and 'stretch' the contact spring just a little bit for a firmer contact and place a little di-electric grease around the rim of the boot where it contacts the plug porcelain.....do it to one, you do it to all of them....check for any corrosion.
And while you're at it, you may as well pull th eplugs and check them....when were thay last done?

I has 2 coils pack up within a month of each other - I replaced the first one and thought nothing of it but when the second one died I decided to replace the lot with aftermarket ones. So far so good a year later, and I have a few spare old coils if one packs up.
I would at least invest in one or two extra coils in case of another failure, at least you can fix it there and then....
