EGR Valve & Throttle Body Cleaning

I just got a P0400 code on my 98 XJR. Cleared the code about 2 weeks ago, but it came back today. I have not worked on an EGR component on a Jag before so wondering if someone can advise. It looks like it might be easier to remove the throttle body first, which brings me to another question. I have only cleaned the TB while on the car with a cloth & carb cleaner before. I am a bit spooked about these due to the number of posts on throttle body issues. Is it advisable to take it off for easier access to egr and give it an off the car cleaning....or should I leave it alone? The car is displaying no change in running conditions, just the DTC. If anyone has procedure experience with this, I would appreciate some help.
Thanks

Thanks Tarheal,
I searched and found 1 procedure for MAF and TB cleaning, with TB remaining on the car. I spent about an hour & a half searching and reading different posts, but found nothing on the EGR valve by way of procedures and nothing on TB removal. I am obviously bad at searching and good at wasting time... Ha Ha.
I think I will just try to get the EGR valve off and leave the TB alone for now. I might have had it done in the time I spent looking at other peoples adventures! Kind of interesting but not too productive.

Thanks Gus. My real issue is the EGR valve. It appears that I should be able to get it off with the throttle body still on, but it is pretty confined under the TB. I thought it might be easier to get at it with the TB off, but without some reassurance from someone experienced with this issue, I am hesitant to remove the it. Reluctance is due to the number of posts I have seen regarding TB troubles. Mine has worked just fine for 100,000 miles and I would prefer it to stay that way. JTIS goes into the possibility of re-setting the kickdown with a PDU, which I doubt I can do with the scanner I have. I assume I would not need to do that, but assumptions can be dangerous. Sometimes I wish I was a Jag Tech... or could afford one at least (damned recession). For now I have re-set the code in hopes I find more info or hear from someone before too long, who has cleaned or replaced their EGR valve . The car is running nicely, so I am not too desperate.
