Default Engine Cradle Mount MNC2360AB

Has anyone changed the "Engine Cradle Mount", item #4 in the diagram?

The top and outside bolts are easy to get to, but I was wondering how difficult it is to get to the two inner torx screws? And what part of the engine/subframe/frame/body do you have to jack up to remove the items? Has anyone replaced these themselves?

They're commonly referred to as the Vee Mount, and should be able to pull a few threads about it if you search that term. When I changed mine, I ended up basically supporting the engine itself from above, and lowered the subframe as much as I could which gave JUST enough room to change them out. I want to say it took us about 4-5 hours to do everything, as it was the first time I had seen them and was going slowly.

CarlzO, I did a comprehensive search, but only found one thread from several years ago from someone who replaced them and had early failure, and so then went with OEMs. I guess my biggest question is, is this a job best left to a service lift, or can it be done by a sane person using jacks and axle stands? I can't tell if the inner torx bolts are easily accessible without a lift.

CK,

I've only replaced the Vee-mounts with the entire subframe removed, so I can't tell you how difficult it may be to get to those Torx screws. But since you're probably going to have to support the engine from above anyway, I would strongly recommend dropping the subframe and replacing the rear subframe pivot bushings (part 2 in the diagram in your post). If your Vee-mounts are shot, your pivot bushings probably are too, and they have a lot to do with steering precision. It would also be worth having a close look at your engine mounts...

Cheers,

Don
