ok...my car 2003 jaguar xjr vin SAJDA15B03MF54042 blown engine ...
Bought an engine from a 2001 xkr VIN: SAJFA41B21PA18883
The company I bout it from says it will fit...
Mechanic took out my engine and noticed my engine has triple row timming chain and the xkr engine has single row timming chain.
Mechanic is hesitant to put the engine in saying he is unsure if it will fit or not ?
anyone have any iput

It will fit with no issues,
All cars built prior to Aug 13th 2001 had single row T-chains, post this date moved onto the morse style chains, along with metal tensioners and larger oil pump...
I'd like to know how the later engine blew? There's no difference in power output between either unit, but the later one has the desirable metal timing chain tensioners, of which you should fit to the earlier engine as a matter of longevity, maybe not from the blown unit though? unless your engineer knows better...
