Evaporator drain pipes question

Evaporator drain pipes question
I have clean water pooling under the car which I believe is from the air con system....happens on most other cars I have had.
The workshop manual talks about 'Condensate (water)......forms on the evaporator........ drained out of the unit .........two drains, located either
side of the unit underneath...... liquid is routed to the vehicle exterior via flexible tubes which are located behind the firewall heat shield'
My question is ..is it normal for the water to drip off the bottom surface of the firewall heat sheild I mean the one around the top of the gear box? I can't see any drain pipes, just the water drips and pools on the floor. Don't mind, just doesn't sound/look right.....I was expecting the drain pipes to direct the water and dangle below the car slightly... Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thank you, Allan.
