Hi
Look at this other thread. It maybe the same issue and remedy.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...rs-door-63295/

The issue was the driver door switch pack (moisture getting into switch pack). Maybe of the forum member has a good used one for a reasonable price.

Part# is LNC6331BE - new part mspr price is $162.50, Gaudin discount price is $132.03. Used ones from recylers is about $100.

Try cleaning the switch pack to see if that fixes it.

I dont believe its the switch pack because since I've been leaving the car unlocked its been fine. Only if i use my key to lock and unlock i am having problems so far. All windows work fi.e from the driver side switches, even memory seats an wheel.

Given that, I suspect the SCLM. I bought one on ebay for about $100.

Have made copies of the control module & w. lifts. Will take them to my mechanic as he put in a new part for $289.00 and I've taken back twice and still doesn't work. I suggested it could be the part was inferior but he said they seldom were bad. I'm beginning to wonder if he really knows what he's doing.
Thanks for the info.

Im very sad to know that the sclm im under the fuse box in the trunk. The previous owner had tried to replace the power antenna and did not put the vent hose back into the floor so the battery and fuse box area was under water when i got the car : ( i haven't had a chance to remove it yet and i gotta say im a little afraid too

I wouldn't be too sad about that - in fact I'd bet pounds to peanuts that your electrical gremlin might be living right there!

Ok with 2 weeks of rain snow and not locking my doors the window has been fine! Im gonna start locking my doors today and see how long it last until reboot. If all works next will be opening my trunk. Im trying to narrow this down to what exactly is causing the slcm to act up. Wish me luck!!

Well.... Went to reboot again and the positive terminal was leaking acid! Swapped out batteries for a new optima yellow top, while doing this i seen the gas tank strap bolts were finger tight! So i tightened those and am letting the computer learn now. We will see... Also unplugged the gas flipper motor..

Shut off car... Locked doors waited 5 mins and unlocked and started..... No power window and Moonroof acting up. Gotta be something in one of the doors or the sclm.

Tested micro switches in j gate today. Found both to be broken. Possible this is my security error? Gonna rebuild shifter tomorrow and see what happens.....

Hi
Here is a thread on the J Gate repair - not much detail on repair, but does give info on the micro switches:
