Default EWL's

How does one delete engine warning and reduced performance lights, without a scanner or similar.

Drive to a workshop and let them do it.

They are there for a reason. Every start up is a system check. If there is a fault, it will show. So deleting them won't really get rid of them for long. Maybe one start...

As Daim said, it really depends on what the root cause is. If it's something that was totally a hiccup on the car's part, sometimes a simple shut off, and restart, would do it. Other times, a hard reset might. But if the cause isn't corrected, it might not matter at all.

A basic tool is a few $$$ so why not get one...

Then read the codes, do NOT delete but fix the fault. They self-clear then.

Some codes don't even let themselves be deleted, like the dreaded ABS fault... You can't delete it until the unit works and then the code is gone anyway...

It is then very important tomget the codes read. Could be anyrhing from a faulty coil, dieing lambda sond/O2 sensor or even worse... Get the codes checked, note them and maybe we can get you CEL free again
