Rock Auto shows different part numbers for XJ8 vs. XJR mufflers, so I assume the diameters are different. Anyone know the exhaust pipe diameter for each? I assume it is consistent all the way from the exhaust manifolds.

 

I know that the XJR diameter is 58mm / 2.25 inches - I just bought some replacement tips so I'm sure of that.. The XJ8 is smaller - I think it's 50mm / 2 inches but don't take my word for it.

 

Both exhausts are the same. Just the muffler tips are different. Most of the exhaust is 2" and less at the bends.

 

Yes 'tis true. The circumference is 6 and 1/2 inches, thus the OD is roughly 2.07 inches.
