failing engine mount ...?

After researching the forum just need confirming confirmation really.
Revving the engine with the foot on the brake pedal, the engine lurches to the right quite noticeably (looking from the cabin).
Does this point to a failing mount - I presume the right hand one...?
How difficult is replacement - the mount seems fairly inaccessable , is it a case of supporting the engine underneath, unbolting the mount and sliding it out, or does half the engine bay need to be removed...?

Maybe I'm off-base here, but doesn't the engine twist in a clockwise direction ? By that I mean if the left (from driver's seat) engine mount did not hold, then the engine would lift on the left side. If the right engine mount was bad, not much would happen. This happened to me years ago on a Ford V8 and the when the engine twisted the throttle would bind and stick. Not much fun.

Andy, a very common problem on these cars, does it cluck going over bumps?
The front of the engine is only supported by these two oil damped units, if you get the car on a ramp with an inspection lamp, you can sometimes spot where the oil has escaped, and guarantee a failed mount.
Let the bottom bolts go first, remove 2 plastic covers and use a long extension, they're torx.
You can then remove the rad top hose and any other items that might tighten or bind before jacking the engine enough to remove and install. A bent/long 13mm? spanner for the top nuts off the engine mount brackets to remove the mounts.
I usually have them done in an hour.

Thanks for the replies chaps.
I should mention that having re-read my post in a rare moment of sobriety I forgot to say the car was in gear when testing with the brake pedal down !
Its dosen't seem to be causing any clunking noised at the moment - some vibration on first starting the car maybe, and I have a bumping noise when coming to a halt in neutral but that seems to be coming from the rear/middle of the car and as ever is intermittent.
Re Sean : The dreaded word : torx - don't you just love German inventions...? Invented by the same firm that manufactures colbalt drill bits and easy-outs...
There does seem to be a "damp" patch on the subframe just below the r/h mount, so I assume the hydraulic oil has leaked at some point.
Ah well another fifty quid and some choice language on the way.
