First Big Issue with the Jag.
So at about 70k i decided to do a transmission service at the shop i work at.
(I now have about 72.5k) 500 miles later after the service, every time I reverse and go to drive the trans kicks hard and some times when i cam to a stop and accelerated it would also kick some of the time but not as hard. I've had it at a trans shop today they told me $2,700 for a rebuild. I also had my diagnostic computer on it when i had it at the shop and reset any parameters to do with driving just so i had a clean slate to start with. still nothing.
Have any of you guys came across an issue like this?
Any advice is appreciated!

If the car is a X308 it probably means the A drum is failing. Was the service a transmission flush? There have been several warnings about not doing that because of the risk of disturbing abrasive particles and leaving them suspended. But it might also just be coincidence.

Is there any chance that there is simply not enough oil? Did you do the service yourself? If just doing filters there is a fancy procedure how to fill the transmission to the right level. Something like "fill until slowly dripping out at a certain temp at certain rpm".

I believe several members have purchased updated A drums and associated parts from ebay vendors. Sunbelt appears to be a good source for a valve body rebuild, probably a good idea at this point.
AW55-50, O1M, JF506E, 5R55e, 09G Valve Body Replacement
Replacing the transmission with a used one would not be wise, in my opinion.
