Default Fixing ABS just made me broke

Got the idea to drill into the ABS Module instead of opening the lid from someone here.
I obviously was extremely careful but clearly it was not enough. I dont know my options now other than to throw it away and buy a new one for 600 Euros.
All this to fix a f*cking dashboard light...

Cracked or chipped semiconductor and a missing resistor.

Did the hole saw have a pilot drill? I have used the hole saw method a couple of times, but it should be done in a drill press with the module clamped to the table and the pilot drill removed. Even then, care must be taken to just cut the case and not go any deeper.

I have used the 'hacksaw' method for over 20 years (late 1990s) and the only one I came close to destroying was the first one to see what was wrong with all these failed ABS modules that cost $1600 to $1800 EACH.

I picked up a discarded one from the dealer shop floor and cut it open to have a look.

I knew there was a circuit board inside so I just cut the seam a little at a time and worked my way around until I could 'crack' it open with a prybar.
There was the bad solder joint so I started re-flowing the joints and trying them in cars. (THEY WORKED!!!!!!)

I took pictures (posted on the internet) and got positive feedback from others that tried it.

I did see the small hole version of the repair but I have never tried it. I just use black silicone RTV to seal the units back up.

Yea thats how i ended up opening it in the end, after destroying it...
Ive seen in other posts that you mentioned that the correct module is difficult to find. I see no JLM number on this but it does say LNC2210AD on the front. I have an XJR X308 from 2000.
Ive noticed that my circuit board is alot diffrent to other xj8s. Also the chip in the middle of the board has a sticker with X100 on it...

There are 5 ABS modules for the early X100 (4.0) and the X308 (3.2 and 4.0) sedans.

JLM20129 (X100 1997MY to VIN 018107) Except Traction Control 5 pipes (6 Valve) LJA2210BH
JLM20130 (X100 1997MY to VIN 018107) With Traction Control 6 pipes (9 Valve) LJA2210AH
JLM20555 (X100 from VIN 018108) and (X308) Except Traction Control 5 pipes (6Valve) LNC2210BD
JLM20556 (X100 from VIN 018108 to VIN 042775) and (X308 to VIN 878717) With Traction Control 6 pipes (9 Valve) LNC2210AD
JLM21323 (X100 from VIN A00083 to VIN A30644) and (X308 From VIN F00035) With Traction Control 6 pipes (9 Valve) LNF2210AD

The JLM20129 and (Especially) JLM20130 are hard to find because of ONE YEAR production.

The numbers printed on the ABS module are NOT the Jaguar numbers listed in the parts catalogue.

Okay, so it appears im in need of a JLM21323 then. But after reading this post of yours im not sure buying one of those will work.
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e3/#post468233

Im unable to read any codes from the car for some strange reason, no scanning device is able to connect to it. Therefore i wont be able to configure it as new part.

Edit: After further research, seems like i have the JLM20556 since it does say LNC2210AD on the front. Maybe its just easier to repair mine with parts

A 2000MY should be FROM VIN F00035 (WITH TRACTION CONTROL 6 pipe - 9valve) = JLM21323 but if you have a 5 pipe (6 valve) ABS modulator, then you need JLM20555.

The XK8 from VIN A00083 to VIN A30644 will also be the same part if it has 6 pipes (9 valve).

A control module that has been disconnected from power for several months might lose it's charge and erase the configuration.
This will require configuration AS NEW PART.

Alright, checked the VIN number...
It says SAJJPALF4CR8732XX (others did not disclose their last so neither will i)

So its after August 1998 and before the new VIN system with the F according to this https://www.jaguarheritage.com/files...is_numbers.pdf
In all the documentation it says 2000, so im a little confused. But anyway im sure its the JLM20556 now.

I went into my shop and looked at my stack of modules to read the case numbers and match them to the actual Jaguar part numbers.

Post #5 is the result of matching the different numbers people confuse.

The BOLD and ITALIC numbers are printed on the case.
The module should have 6 Pipes (9 valve) with a number printed on the case LNC2210AD.
