Default Flex Disc (driveshaft)

Hi All,

I recently acquired a 98 Vanden Plas with the usual A drum problem. So, I took the tranny out (kudos to Jag for not making this overly difficult). When disconnecting the front flex disc (jurid coupling) from the transmission I noticed that it is badly worn (torn at the metal inserts). Now, the manual says never to disconnect that from the drive shaft but the reality is, the car is not worth the cost of the driveshaft. So, I see that you can buy the flex disc (CBC8996).

MY QUESTION IS: is this (CBC8996) the front or the rear flex disc or are they the same?

Thanks!

Greg

Not overly difficult, this is true. Overly engineered that it required 16 (!!!!!!) bell housing to block bolts is about twice as many fasteners that's needed.

They are the same jurid couplings front and rear.

Thanks Bud.

I guess you cannot blame the Brits for the under-engineered transmission (four major known under-engineered parts in a single tranny, are you kidding me?).
