Got 4 floor mats from automatstore.com I went with the 8945 Dark Beige From Avery Luxury Touring Carpet 42 oz. Berber customs. Automatstore.com was super swift sending me out a few samples to choose from & delivered the product in maybe 10 days after I ordered. Here's some pics that doesn't really do them justice, due the carpet not being detailed since March & the front mat having a wave from a fold during shipping(flattened out with in an hour for a perfect fit). Anchor slots match perfect & they are super snug to the floor. Really pleased.
Those berber mats look nice. I was considering some berber mats, and may still get one as a trunk mat.
But the family bought me some Lloyd "Luxe" mats for Father's Day in "ebony" which was the closest match to my "Warm Charcoal" interior.
Very excited for their arrival
I tried to recolor my OEM mats with some nylon color made by SEM, but the color just didn't hold up to wear unfortunately. I've recolored other vinyl/nylon/ABS with good success, but I think carpet is a tough thing to successfully do and have last.
Any idea where I can get front floor mats for my 1998 XJ8? I need a Lt. Beige.
I am the lucky owner of the original wool, high pole floor-mats the Daimler / Vanden Plas came with, which are an absolute delight.
It is incredible how much it adds to the interior of the car.
I however always wondered why they cannot be replicated.
Buy a meter of the right color, high qulaity high pole carpet, bring it to a floor-mat company and have them cut, sewed and detailed in the right shape.
Perhaps bit easier in this part of the world on labor, but should be doable anywhere.
I am sure I will give it a try, and perhaps some optional thinking for you?
E.
