Default Fog Lights

Has anyone replaced the factory fog lights with after market lights in their XJ8? I caught a rock on the highway yesterday my passenger side fog light is shattered. This happened on my old 98 Jag XJ8L twice I searched one on Ebay paid about 35 bucks shipped and it got shattered a couple months later from a rock I didn't replace it the second time just cleaned the glass out the light still worked. This is the third time it has happened getting sick of replacing them especially when they cost 35 bucks or more every time and that is from a junk yard new they are ridiculously priced. I would like to get something that is a little less likely to break maybe something with a good plastic lens.

I did, but it was a bit of a job to mount aftermarket lamps as there needs to be some sort of adapter brackets made up, then I sealed the outer edges to the bumper with Sikoflex sealant. I think I got them from an online parts shop being the closest in diameter. The side lights I connected to the outer LED ring light so I have DRL, the inner I run HID for the fogs.

Thanks that looks great! I like really the halo lights. That is what I think I'm going to do instead of hunting down an original. I can get a decent set of after market ones for the price of one used original plus shipping. I have access to a lift making brackets is not a problem for me. Now when you say you wired the ring lights to the DRL do you mean the parking lights, the little bulbs inside the head lights? Am I correct?

I ordered a set of LUMEN Driving/fog lamps from CA
RID. $40 bucks! They look like the ones you used.

Yes, run the wiring up to the back of the headlamp assembly and solder/shrink tube should see it done electrically. They look an exact match to mine

I am a little bummed, they are on back order! I got an email saying they will be shipping soon. Originally they were supposed to be shipped on the 4th or 5th now they say the 19th. No big deal because the weather really hasn't been good enough for me to crawl under the car. LOL

Finally got my Fog Lights! It only took about 5+ months of being on back order. Now to find the time to install them. As soon as I get them done I'll post pics.

Here you go. https://www.carid.com/lumen/lumen-ha...688200724.html

As Sean said they are not a direct replacement you need to fashion a mount. I do not know how I am going to do it. I might use the mounts that are on the old ones and make them to fit the new lights. I won't know until I take the old ones out and see what I have to do. It might end up I make my own mounts from scratch.

I put morimoto 35 watt 5k hid fogs in my 02 sport. Very happy with it. Love the look with the pilot lights on and fogs at the same time.
