Followup questions for headliner replacement
Hi,
I'm new to the forum and new to a white 2001 XJ8 VDP with a whitish interior.
The headliner needs replacing, and after a lot of forum and google searches, I still have a few questions:
1) Does Jag sell the replacement material for a perfect match?
2) If I have to go with WLS headliner material, how do I know which is the right color? The thumbnails have several that look similar.
3) If I go with WLS, will it also have the right thickness and texture?
4) What about the visors? Do they go bad too? It looks near-to-impossible to recover those well by yourself since they are sewn.
Thanks!
PRH

Hi ,
Had this job done 3 months ago on my Jag.
Generally Jaguar doesn't make this job, but they take the headliner out, and send to an upholstery shop , and they put the new cover, and Jaguar just puts it back.To your questions:
Jaguar does not sell the replacement material, you have to put the thumbnails next to your present colour, and find the best match, usually with the existing cover on the pillars.
Visors can also be covered with new material.
At this part of the world, it costed me $ 850, at the Jaguar service, in Abu Dhabi. It is worth, looks like new again.
