Thanks, I just ordered this one. Two for under $9 shipped. The "Other part #" field in the listing shows the Jaguar FCC ID (for one version of the Jaguar FOB at least): CWTWB1U322. The MFG Part # of the item in the listing matches other ebay listings that are a few dollars more expensive.
2 New 4 Button Replacement Keyless Entry Car Key SUV Remote Fob Transmitter | eBay
It will be probably another 3 weeks before I can try to program them since I will be out of town, but I'll post the result when I can get to it. Thanks for sharing this. I'm hoping I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for a pair of used Jaguar FOBs.

I have a 1999 XJ8L and my wife has a 2001 XJ8. They each have DIFFERENT keyfob transmitters.
The LEFT is for my 1999 and the one on the RIGHT is for my wife's 2001.
Notice the shape of the buttons.
The Ford buttons are the same as the one on the RIGHT.

Yes Bob, as you said these Ford keys did not work on my 1999. I tried unplugging and reconnecting the coax in the boot, but the car is not processing the signal in learning mode. This is based on the assumption that the receiver system is OK. My next course of action is to keep an eye out on ebay for a good deal on one of the older Jaguar FOBs.

FCC ID GQ43VT4T looks fairly similar to the Jaguar LJA2610AA (FCC ID K8597T315). Run the FCC ID #s and TRW made the GQ43VT4T for Ford.
TRW also makes the Jaguar LJA2610BB as stamped on the back of the FOB (this is the old Euro 4-button). From what I can find, LJA2610BB (Euro) is the successor to LJA2610BA (also Euro but without the TRW name on the back). Though I'm not sure what Jaguar Model year LJA2610BB started. I read LJA2610BB is backwards compatible with LJA2610BA and supposedly works with Euro MYs 1997-2000, but I'm not sure if that's true.
I would GUESS that somewhere after the takeover, Ford contracted their existing companion TRW to make the Euro LJA2610BB FOBs, but to the existing Euro LJA2610BA specs for compatibility. I wouldn't assume USA/CAN K8597T315 /Jaguar LJA2610AA is compatible with the Ford GQ43VT4T. I suppose that could be true if TRW was making FOBs for Jaguar all along, but without their name on the FCC paperwork and no manufacturer stamp on the back, AND they just made the Jaguar FOBs to the existing Ford GQ43VT4T specs. Though I've seen stranger things happen... What bugs me is I wonder why Ford would contract TRW to start making Euro FOBs, but not USA/CAN FOBs at the same time too?
Looks like around 2000 Ford went to Alps Electronics in Japan for FOBs (including Jaguar FOBs), and either Alps or Ford had the sense to synchronize compatibility, which is why the FOBs in the original post work.

does this key fob work with 2002 Jaguar XJ8?
What is the model or fcc number? I want to know if I am buying the right one.
