Default Front Seats

2003 XJ8 sport. AGD trim seats:

My front seats are worn, dried and cracked. Driver's seat is torn on the lower seating area. I got 2 quotes for reupholstered. One is $900 each and the other quote came in at $800 each to reupholster. I think it is ok for the price, but when I looked on Ebay, you can get the X350 (2004-2007) used seats for dirt cheap. Lowest I saw was $75.00. Even the DAP skin is dirt cheap. Has anyone tried putting in a X350 seats into a x308? Will it work? Does it fit?

BTW, LSeats.com has XJ8 VP (X308) style skin set only for $299.00, will that fit the regular X308 seats?

Happy 2017!!!!

I can tell you I had mine done for $800, 3 yrs ago, so that price sounds about right. That included replacing 3 worn panels (1 on the passenger, center front and sand right one) to include the complete center panel (seat & back) driver side and center front panel and dye the complete interior to include the steering wheel.
The driver side center panel isn't bloused because I asked him to put in more padding.

Had the interior redone over a year ago.

If you have that pattern, then your seats are already not original for the Sport.
I guess the frames are the same for all x308, so those skin sets should work (perhaps with modifying some padding as that is probably different).
However, if it was my car, I should go for at least the same pattern for front and rear seats.

Thanks for the reply. Upon further research, here are pictures of the bottom of the seats. Frames may be the same width, but the connectors are completely different. I guess finding good used seat are the first option and having it redone is the second option.

I had both my front seats touched up, I had minor creasing & color wear for $90 per seat so $180 total by a local mobile guy. Been a year & still holding up admirably. Will post pics next cleaning session.

I'm going through the same thing, my driver side front seat on my VDP is shot, at least the lower cushion is. Passenger probably just needs a refreshing, good cleaning but I would probably get them both recovered. I'm on ebay, kijiji constantly. Just picked up an excellently refurbished center console lid for $200.

are you saying the quote is $900 a seat you got, $1800 for both?

I'm looking at LSeats as well and have requested a sample for two of their colours. My trim code is AGD (oatmeal), I don't think either of theirs will work but its hard to tell from pictures what the true colour is.

$800-900 per seat. I'm getting sample from LSeats to see if the leather colors matches. They have it for $300 for both, but it's VDP only.

danutcha, I misread your initial post, I see its says for each seat, that had better be new recovering with correct piping. I was quoted $2500 from 3 sources for a complete recover. Just so you know, my whole interior was done for the $800 for what I stated.

$800 is a great deal for both! Problem is when I get a quote and they see it's a JAG and the price goes up without looking at the year.

$800 seems about right and a good price. My corvette is $900 per seat and the door panels are $550 per panel.
