Hello fellow jagsters...

I work at a body shop and have this customer with a 98 xj8. We did some work on his car and everything went well but he came back stating that we broke his front under cover because it just hangs it the middle. Well I have an 01 xj8 so I thought no worries, Ill replace whatever piece it was... well my lower under cover just hangs there too.

I called my local Jag dealer asking if there is a bracket or different shield it attaches to but had no luck. So I just want to confirm that it is factory. I dont want to tell my customer that its supposed to hang there when it doesnt.. Thanks in advance

 

There's a similar question just been posted, a couple of 12" zip ties will see both cars right, where the undertray goes to a point in the middle, there's 2 holes to tie it to the subframe tube, hope this helps

Yep, I had the same question. Like Sean said, there should be two holes in the center spar that fall right under a tubular support bracket, and you just use a largish zip tie to attach it to that bracket. Worked like a charm. For a temporary fix you can just bend it up and put the spar over the tubular bracket and it will hold it up until you can get a zip tie.
