Managed to get JTIS running on a old laptop running XP. So that it is handy for use, I have installed it in the trunk. A USB cable connects it with the ECM so that I get an alert when a part is wearing out. Now I have that elusive Jag part number at my fingertips. I am running Akeboneo ceramic brake pads so they will not be covered by JTIS, unfortunately. But the low dust and long life is compensation I suppose.

My anti-virus software detected a Hidden Trojan in the JPEC.exe file from post #75. So I went back to post #1 to grab JEPC.rar, and finally succeeded in installing and running JEPC on my Lenovo Windows 10 Laptop. Thank you so much Jim.
I have installed JPEC on a 64 bit windows 10 machine.
I downloaded JPEC.exe from post #75. For whatever reason it would not extract to the C: root drive so I made a new folder and then copied the files from the new folder to the c: drive.
Copied C: drive link to desktop and logged in.
Next, installing JTIS; fingers crossed.
Thanks Jim.

Just tried mine, I can change the language on the log on page and it changes the menu buttons in the program but doesn't change the actual content language from English.
If you can't log in and the language selection does nothing it sounds like your install may be corrupted. Have you tried deleting it and re-installing?

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us. To get your post count up, start by posting a required introduction in the New Member Area - Intro a MUST.
Next, visit some threads you find helpful and click on the THANKS button for posts you find particularly helpful. Each THANKS you click counts as a post. Once your post count is up and your length of membership passes the undisclosed minimum threshold, you should be able to access downloads from the forum.
In the meantime, you can look up parts diagrams and part numbers at jaguarmerriamparts.com
Cheers,
Don

Here is more information on the newly created JEPC DVD.

Here is the information on the JEPC folders and files on the PC hard drive:
![](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/attachments/xj-xj8-xjr-x308-27/81567-full-jaguar-epc-download-complete-install-instructions-jepconpcharddrive_zps0b1a9e0c.jpg?dateline=1398339936)
Note that the number of folders and files are the same on the DVD and the PC hard drive, but the DVD JEPC file folder is a little smaller than PC JEPC file folder (377 megs versus 378 megs) probably due to PC indexing taking up space on PC hard drive.

Any info on why this seems to be necessary?
Thanks,

Doug, the reason you can't move the folder is because the "rootFolder" default constant [ C:\\jepcv3\\EPC\\Data\\Files" ] is hardcoded in the file "constants.js" under EPC>JEPC>applications>JS. (You can change it in a text editor). The file has to exist in the location given (as well as the logon[USERNAME].xml file) in order to prevent "Logon Authentication Failed" - as the scrips check for a correct logon username FIRST from that file before checking the Base64 bit encoded password in that file (which if wrong would give a "wrong password" error). So you can edit constants.js if you want to change the location of the jepcv3 folder hierarchy. The JEPC folder (the one that contains the bulk of the files) at the same parallel level doesn't have to be any specific place as far as I can see so far.
I'm not sure if a root type folder is hard-coded in any of the compressed .jar java files (like updater -which you wouldn't really use anyway).. but for basic drive/folder change purposes, you only need to edit contstants.js
If you want to change the username or password (which I haven't done, but I think it's easy), then you need to edit and make a copy of logonADMIN.xml to logon[USERNAMEHERE].xml and change it's internal contstants.
These will help with the encoded password:

Jim,
I recently had to replace my harddrive and did a clean install of W10, 64bit.
Followed the instructions extracting to the C drive and coping the shortcut to desk top.
Logon pops up but after entering ADMIN & 123 it just freezes.
Any ideas?
BTW to what MY does this download goes to. I'm looking for at least 2013

Hi Jim,
Firstly thanks very much for this post, very useful for confirming part numbers. I installed the data base on Windows 10 and ofline part lookup works fine. Online search doesn't work yet unfortunately but still working on this.
One problem I did have was extracting the rar file, I tried BreeZip with no luck. After reading feedback comments above installed the free version of 7zip from Windows store (safer) and that worked fine.
The combination of using the official Jaguar parts site and the lookup table give some level of confidence that you have the correct part for your car and vin number.
Very happy man!

Hi, my english is not verry good, I write from Germany. I tried to search and find my problem, but it is difficult and I could not find.
Years ago I downloaded your wonderful EPC and used it under WIN7/32bit.
Now I need some parts, but it will not start again (last year I dated my PC up to WIN10/32 Bit). I can log in, chose S-Type but when I klick to a part, the part will not appear. The problem is: "A connection to the internet could not be established". I do not understand, because years ago it worked offline without internet.
Can you help me? A lot of thanks, Hans

If you just need to check parts diagrams and part numbers quickly, try visiting jaguarlandroverclassicparts.com
Select your S-Type model and VIN range and you'll have access to most of the same information as in the EPC.
Cheers,
Don

Hi Hans, I installed it on Windows 10 (64bit) and the result was similar to you. The operation is not complete but you can see the part numbers listed, but no pictures. You can check the part number on another site such as https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com, Berkshire Jaguar Britishparts etc. As you said the on-line search doesn't work, would be great to have this working. One thing to watch is that there can be two or three part numbers for the same part due to area / supplier I guess. This was the case with my XKR X150 can cover gasket.
