Default Gas leak 02 VDP! Please help!

Lately my car has been smelling gas fumes in the cabin. As I pulled out of the driveway this morning there was a trail of gas on the floor. When I looked under the car there was a strong gas leak from coming from the middle rear portion of the undercarriage. Looks like a connection from the gas tank to? who knows. Please enlighten me on this problem. Been perusing this forum and others like it and no prior episodes on a fuel leak on a VDP. This is my first Jag and a newbie in this forum I DO NOT WANT TO BLOW UP IN THIS CAR. Thanks a million for your help.

connection at the fuel filter, possibly. Just follow the fuel line.

And, YES, it is serious. The fuel pump is in the gas tank, so you have 40 psi pressure on the fuel supply line, although the fuel return line is also there at a much lower pressure.

Default Thanks guys!

JThanks for the info and just an update ...After I observed the leak under the car yesterday I turned it off for about an hour...then tired it again, DID NOT LEAK, like the first thing in the morning. Took a few trips and everytime I started the car I took a look..no leaks. So this morning I stsrted her up again and just like first thing yesterday LEAKING (strong too) from the same spot...DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE? I'll be at the indy Monday but want to be informed on the matter when I get there..IS THIS CAR DRIVEABLE OR NOT?

thanks again, folks!

Do not drive a car with a fuel leak. It is not worth the risk and can be very dangerous.

I'm with Wazari...Your indie should be able to flatbed it for about $50-$65.

I don't know, I think it'd look pretty cool going down the freeway with flames out the back.
*~*~*~~

But I have to admit, the other two comments are probably a safer bet.

I hope you're wearing flame retardant underwear.
