Hi,
So I've been reading some of the topics and noticed, that you guys, are having mileages like: 20 mpg, etc.
I have Daimler V8 Super 1999 and computer states that it is using ~20 liters/100km (~11.8 mpg) with sport button off.
Is this normal? If no, what do you suggest?

I have a 2000 Vanden Plas Supercharged, basically the same model as your car.
11.8 MPG sounds a little low, but is believable with cold temperatures, short trips, and no highway driving.
First, I'd check your computer's calculation with your own math at a fill-up. My trip computer consistently shows that I've used one more gallon than I really have, which shows up as a lower displayed MPG than what I'm actually getting.
I only use sport mode and in mostly urban driving, I'll average around 15 MPG (US gallon). A long trip at highway speeds (70-80mph) will barely squeak over 20 MPG (US gallon).

My 1999 XJR also gets 10% better actual mileage than the trip computer shows, I average 17mpg around town, 22 on road trips (steady 80mph), and 6-7 mpg at a steady 130+...
Sounds as though you might need to replace your air filter element and possibly spark plugs as a first effort at better fuel economy.

Capacity 23.1 US Gallons / 87.4 Liters
Gauge should indicate empty at 19.8 US Gallons / 75 Liters
Another thing to consider is the ethanol content in your fuel. My area requires all gas to be sold with a minimum of 10% ethanol, which negatively affects mileage. My economy numbers might look more like Markus's in an area with no ethanol.

I have noticed increased fuel consumption and decreased power when forced to use gasahol. The old saying "alcohol and cars don't mix" has great merit, IMHO - on many levels!
