Default Glass Headlamp Replacement Part

Rock cracked the outer passenger side glass headlamp on my 1998 Vanden Plas. Can I just replace the one lamp with this single headlamp assembly:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XJ8-...-1#UserReviews

or does it have to be the whole two-lamp assembly?

The salvage yards will usually only sell you the pair

but they only run 75 bucks a pair on E bay

The inner and outer lamps are different and the X300 and X308 lamps are different

spray some penetrating oil on the plastic palls that hold the individual lamp to the plastic mounting bracket , they break

try fist before ordering this single lamp without bracket

New it's the whole assembly.

... As P says ..... if going used ---- price out the part vs the whole and make sure you can disassemble yours w/o damage.

You can replace just the single glass part (LNC4620, LNC4621). New ones are available, but increasingly rare.

Had to replace both of my x300 assemblies. They did not hold up. Although same halogen bulb -- the X308's throw better beam. Interesting that Samilcar says individual available for the x308. When I bought my second R the low beam was cracked -- when I went to pick it up I could tell the difference Left and Right assemblies ... Jaguar replaced the other side.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I went ahead and bought the whole assembly for the right side. $70 on eBay, worth not hassling with trying to replace just the glass and risk messing it up.
