Default Goodbye transmission?

Unfortunately I think my car transmission is gone . since yesterday the transmission working weird I was on stop light then when shifted to D the car was accelerating like jumping! Then it disappeared and became fine , so today I shift to drive but it won't engage then after many tries engaged to drive drove it for 10 minutes to park it then now I hear like grinding noise when transmission is in neutral like old rusty fan noise ! Is this transmission need serious fix like rebuilding it ? Or it could be low fluid ?
I noticed the cruise control button stopped led light it doesn't work

It could be low fluid, so start there. But stop trying to drive it until you know. The grinding noise sounds like it may be damaged, but checking fluid is the least expensive thing you can do.

Hopefully it's just low fluid

....and just for kicks, check that the shift cable is still clamped to the side of the transmission....a common problem is the bolts fall out and finding gears is a bit hit and miss. If that is your problem its the easiest and cheapest fix you will ever have on this car !!!

Update we drained about 5 quart and refilled it with fresh fluid no much of noise now and it shifts fine but when transmission in neutral I can hear like turbine sound the mechanic said I'm sure it's the torque converter is going bad but you can still drive it on low speed .
