gotta love previous owners
while backing into a parking spot a huge cloud of steam came from under my xjr. fearing the worst i popped the hood and it seemed to be coming from under the supercharger. after taking the covers off the brake booster etc., i see that the coolant line to the expansion tank is leaking at the fitting. i touch it in an attempt to see if it's just loose and...snap...the line breaks and promptly shoots nice hot coolant on my arm. i call my local dealership and, hallelujah, they have the line in stock. i get a ride to the dealer, get the line for a cool 23 bucks get home and find this:
that coolant line is run incorrectly up and over the supercharger and it also is rigged with some regular rubber coolant hose.
after removing the rubber hose, i discovered this:
both ends of the dealer supplied line had the same quick disconnect fitting but the end that attaches to the thermostat housing assembly (not quite sure what it's called) is all messed up so i had to rig it like it was beforehand
my question is...does this require replacement of the entire thermostat housing assembly, or can the fitting be replaced?

looks like whoever had your car before you screwed you over. It looks like they broke off the stock fitting and somehow attached their own fitting. my hose also broke off at the connector and overheated my car once, and then only about a year later when removing that hose again to remove the supercharger it broke again while tugging on it. those little hoses suck.
however, my rigged fix worked great with absolutely 0 problems for about 6 months, then I removed it and replaced it with the stock part.
I bet the new part that you would need to make your car 100% jaguar OEM would be big money, but I'm not sure
my one picture is of the way I rigged it, the other picture is of how it's supposed to look
good luck

my coolant issues persist. today while on the highway doing about 80 mph, i glance down to see my instant mpg but instead i see a red light and the display saying coolant low. i get off the highway down to about 40 mph and the low coolant warning went away. anyone have an idea what could be causing this? the coolant level seems to be ok and i have yet to spot any leaks.
