So what are you doing with your cat for this holiday?
I am taking mine to Beverly Wilshire Hotel, and we will have a good time. She is wearing a fresh coat of wax, and her gold color is sparkling! After SEVEN leather condittioner applications, her seats feel like a lambskin jacket from Bond Street. She smells inside like my library, with smells of English leather, mixing with exotic woods, and lambwool carpets.
She will see a little night life on the Strip, her pilot will have some good food by the ocean, and she will stretch her legs on the PCH to Santa Barbara next morning. Holiday dinner with the family in Santa Barbara, and another night at Beverly Wilshire, with some shoping at Melrose Place, the following day.
Going back to the mountains, and her cozy garage on Sunday evening.
My cat sure knows how to enjoy her life at the old (14 years!) age. If it's true that cat's years are x7 for human, .....she is an old lady at 98 years of age, but I wouldn't trade her for a much younger one!

danielsand,
Sounds like a dream holiday. I hope it turn out the way you hope.
I'm going to wake up early and start a BBQ turkey. While it cooks I'll wash my XJ8. The wax should still be good. Drive to Burbank with the bird in the trunk and enjoy family. I will not lock my key in the trunk like I did last Thanksgiving.
Work on Friday.
Up to Running Springs (mountains for those not familiar with SoCal) on Saturday for an overnight. Back to work on Monday to support my habit. (Internal combustion engine powered vehicles)
Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas
and Happy New Year to all.

Happy Thanksgiving. I'm interested in your leather conditioner of choice as well. I have some Leatherique I purchased for my Lincoln to rejuvinate the leather but it's quite expensive.
I'm going to be doing a tune up and some valve cover gaskets I believe this weekend. That's on my agenda and then probably a good detail.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I'll be wrenching on my Alfas. Need to prep the 82 spider for sale. Wife says too many toys and not enough space. Returned from Palm Springs Classic Car auction. Saw some very good deals (and many not so good) but have to thin out the herd first. Another auction coming up next February![Wink](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Danielsand, I too am interested in the conditioner. I have an XJR (perforated leather) and wonder if that will work. Thanks

Besides being a cat wrangler, I also own five horses (the real fourlegged ones!). That means a lot of leather tack. Feed and tack stores sell a liquid saddle soap, newly formulated and MUCH easier to work with than the traditional saddle soap. It's made by the company called "Farnam", and it's in a spray bottle with a name "Leather New" on it.
You spray this thing directly onto the leather, and use a soft bristled brush (horsehair brush works the best), to lather this liquid, and to reach into the pores. Use a clean terry cloth towel, and rub the lather off. This will remove all dirt, residue, and anything else on the leather. Keep changing the towel, and never rub with a spot already used. If you are satissfied with the results, just let it dry, and buff with another clean terrycloth towel. Is cleans, softens, and preserves the leather, leaving a nice sheen.
But I don't stop there! I follow the initial treatment with "Lexol" leather conditioner (as many coats as you feel like!). It works well on the jackets, furniture, horse tack,.....and Jaguar seats!

You must have the black interior I purchased a lot of Farnam Saddle Soap, got a deal
and used it on the rear seat edge as instructed even purchased a horse hair brush, and on my white interior it pulled the dye.
I did a little research the day after on some Horse website and found a few articles about saddle soap and being that it's an alkaline substance it will pull the dye. I think it was just far more obvious in my white interior than the black may be or perhaps mine is more worn already and therefore weaker. I dunno but I didn't want to continue with it. I purchased a new console lid to replace my torn one so when I replace mine I will experiment on it and show some pictures since I have a half gallon of saddle soap I probably can't use hahaha I'll post up the results.

Well,......I don't know what to say, except that my interior is NED (Ivory)! I purchased all the seats from the junkyard, and they came out of 2003 VDP with 32K on the clock. The seats are LIKE NEW, but they were FILTHY,.....dust, junkyard worker's greasy black hand prints,....you name it. The leather looked like it was never conditioned (dry). I used the above mentioned procedure, and te results are stunning,.....no loss of dye, and the seats look like new.
As they say,....."your mileage may be different".
