hard reset

Richard, in your post yesterday (1/10/22) at 9:16pm, you stated that the P1396 & P1000 codes came back. Let’s ignore P1000 until we get clarification on the other code first. Seeing as that’s not even 12 hours ago from the time I post this, does P1396 in fact come back up as an issue? Yes or no?

I did fix the codes as stated in previous posts but the manufacturer codes are the ones that keep comming back up p1396 and p1000 and engine light because of them codes I have a very good code reader so I know it’s accurate. And those codes are for a incomplete cycle so maybe I have to drive it longer for the cycle to complete I’ve gone about 55-60 miles since the hard reset and still has light on with them codes I’m not clearing codes cause i k ow that just starts a cycle all over so after 100 miles if it don’t go away to the dealer I go and they can hook it up to their fancy machines and figure it out I can’t do anything else
P1396 has NOTHING to do with Drive Cycles. You could drive FOREVER and it will NOT CLEAR. Here are the five possible causes of this code:
Until you find and fix the cause, P1396 will just keep coming back. When you have fixed the cause and then cleared the codes, P1000 will eventually be replaced by P1111 once all the OnBoard Monitoring Tests have been completed.

It certainly wouldn’t hurt to do a HR. If you had tried the code with the engine off, maybe have the engine running this time? 🤷♂️ I have encountered once or twice a radio that wouldn’t take the correct code and we ended up having to replace it. I can’t remember if we had tried a HR or not as this was years ago.
