Default Have a free laugh on me

Okay, let me start this with the standard disclaimer...I'm a newbie, just purchased the 2003 on 19-Dec 2014 and of course, I join the forum and read about all of the 'personality traits' of our Jags.

So mine has a rattle. From the driver's seat, you swear it is on the passenger side. From the passenger side you swear it is on the driver's side. So reading through posts, I started by taking off the plastic parts under the hood. No change.

Then I read about the vibrating air duct up under the dash, I tremble.

I'm sharing this story with my partially deaf son-in-law whilst we are out driving around and he leans to the middle of the car and declares that the sound is coming from the center of the car.

Then to my embarrassment, he reaches up, opens the sunglasses holder and removes my extra pair of glasses that is rattling around. She's been as quiet as a kitten ever since.

Let the laughter begin.....I'm just glad I didn't pull the dash beforehand!

Well gee, you're no fun at all!

If it were me, I'm sure I could have had at least pulled the engine or some other major component before I figured it out!

Enjoy the quiet.

Is that the car that HSwift1984 was selling? Looks identical, and if so, I really really wanted that car but just didn't have it in the budget right now.

Isn't it nice to drive a used 12 year old car and have the glasses rattling be the worst annoyance!

For now, anyway, right? The other one to be aware of is squeaking coming from styrofoam coffee cups in the front seat holder. That one got me going.

If you drive it, annoyances will come.

But it's still a dream to waft down the road while lesser mortals row their cloned barges around.
