Default Have fuel lines below tank loose; they won't come off, what's the trick?

I made the metal tool as shown in this thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ank-out-34473/

I dropped the subframe and suspension to give me more room. I used the tool shown above and got it so both lines move around and wiggle now, but they are still firmly attached. I can pull on them pretty much as hard as I can and they won't come free. What's the deal? What am I doing wrong?

I tried using the plastic tool on a connector on the fuel rail to see how the connectors work, but with my big hands (6'-3") I managed to drop the tool down into the engine bay and cant' see or find it. Awesome.

I have everything else disconnected and can pull the tank back, just need these two line to come free so I can get the tank out. I'll take any sort of help, please.

I have to say, I think it is less work to pull the engine and transmission from my 300ZX twinturbo. This has been a HUGE PITA so far.

Thanks,

Mike

The line will ALWAYS move around. They are sealed with 'O'rings and the metal 'fingers' keep the lines in place.
You spread the 'fingers' with the special tool and pull the lines clear of the retainer.
Sometimes you need to 'twirl' the tool to ensure that all the 'fingers' are spread open so the bulge in the line can be pulled past the retaining 'fingers'.

I just put the plastic tool on the line and push up with a pair of MAC 'ring grip' pliers.

Moving the hand brake cable out of the way helps.

I have never had to lower the suspension, but I work on a car lift so standing under the car is easier when you can turn different ways.
