Question headlight chase

2000 VDP, my left (driver) headlights don't work.
Replaced bulbs, still no.
Both right side work fine. Fuses ok. Swapped relays around, no change.

Here's the kicker, the half-lit mode is working on the high beam (?) bulb. The full-lit does not.

I traced an online schematic, it looks like we break into the separate right and left circuits at the low and high relays. Again, swapping made no change. Fuses ok, seem to have voltage at each.

just checked, left side fog light works. So ground point itself is there.

Also, parking lamp in headlight shell works in parking light mode, but turns off when select low beam. (Right side PL stays on in both modes.)

Ideas? Just broken wires? 2 bad sockets? Missing something?

Thanks,

Lowell

Maybe a broken wire in the multifunction switch, if notva wire at the lamp socket itself.

Pull the wiring diagram in the stickies to see which wires.

If the multifunction switch, searches on steering wheel removal, air bag removal, multifunction switch, will provide info. If you are not good with a soldering iron, maybe a new switch.

I chased an issue with my driver side base light for about 2 yrs. I'm the second owner and did as you, changed the bulbs, metered wires and such. Then I found the issue, apparently the previous owner (or a crappy Jag mechanic, there were shop receipts) didn't properly fit one of the terminals back into the rubber socket. So when I put in the bulb, it would contact and work, but then after riding around it worked apart.
Thus I am saying, check those terminal connectors in the rubber socket.

Thanks. I'm leaning toward the terminal/connector thing. I'm positive the bulbs worked when I replaced them, then not so much shortly after.
Gotta wait for some warmer weather before fiddling with the plastics. (And this scab on my knuckle to heal.)
