Headliner Material For 98 XJ8
Does anyone know where I can buy headliner material for my 98 XJ8 and if so, is it easy enough to do myself or should I pay an upholstery shop? If I end up paying an upholstery shop, what is the difference in me doing it myself and paying the shop? Thank you in advance.

1998 XJ8 Headliner Replacement
You can purchase headliner material from WLS Headliners. Also, they have a guide posted for headliner replacement for a 1998 XJ8. Check it out here:

I just did mine in my 99 XJ8 yesterday.
To make the job real easy I had my cracked windshield removed by a mobile glass company.
I'll call them tomorrow to come out and install the new piece of Glass that I needed anyway.
BTW, I got my material at Joann Fabrics. 10 running feet was $19.98. I did download a 40% off coupon after searching google. The Headliner 2X strength glue was $19.98 per can. One can was enough.

headliner guy
don't know where you are, but right down here in Long Beach is a really knowledgeable car upholsterer and headliner replacement guy. This is ALL he does, antique cars, Hot rods, new ones, His shop is located at 1501 Suite D Daisy Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90813. Off the PCH S exit 710 frwy. His name is "Nacho" and him and his crew work incessantly on cars.
I gave him an old 93 Saab 9000 CSE Turbo because the grey liner.... stunk and was drooping down in places. The job he did with black cloth is unbelievably good, better than factory, perfect, and took him all of 1 day and cost $200.00 cash. I wish all mechs had his work ethic, cost and craftsmanship. Been doing this for a very long time. Good luck!
older thread, so this might be for some new SoCAL peeps with sim probs.
