Heated Seat Question?

Heated Seat Question?
I have read the other threads concerning the seats and issues. My passenger seat does not work I have checked al the fuses all in good nick. I also opened up the seat and removed the thermostat and connected a fuse to bypass the thermostat, still no heat. What should I look at next? The light on the dash display comes on.
Also the lumbar switch on the same seat does nothing.
Thanks

Click is a sound of a relay engaging. Check the wires from the relay to the heating mat, they are prone to fail. You may remove the plastic rear cover of the seat and check the voltage on a connector behind it. If there's no voltage when the heat is on - the wires are defective. If there's voltage - the heating mat is defective.

The "elements" in the seats can go bad but usually it is only the upper or lower as it is unlikely that both go out at the same time.
There is a thread on how these seats don't really heat up very fast and that there are two "thermoswitches" per seat that stop the heating up process when the temp gets to about 87 degrees F. We all laughed that that is not very hot.
The thread is here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-solved-44965/
and it talks about how to pull back the seat leather cover and remove the TWO thermoswitches and just hook the wires together. That is what I did and my seats now heat better but still not quick and toasty like other cars I have.
So it could be possible that one of the thermoswitches is bad and stuck "open." We also joked about there being TWO of these switches.
Good luck.
