I have this xj8 which is giving me some quite time while i repair, repair repair. I have pulled the inlet and TB to get to the heater hoses. Looks like a lot of one time vacuum connection tubes... Think I will go back with copper tubing over brittle plastic. First time into this engine so time is killing me uncovering brittle/broken hoses. Any opioin on just plumbinf teh vaccub with copper or AL tubing? Its almost like I have to acutually follow behind the engineers who built this car or pay a fourtune in parts?

The plastic lines do break easily. They are $13-$18 each. Buy a few spares. Since you are in Atlanta, you might want to visit Coventry West. They stock a lot of new parts as
well and used items.

 

I agree with leer, just buy the replacement pieces. By the time you spend time, gas, and money on parts trying to reengineer youll have spend more money. And if i saw that on a car i was looking to buy or work on, ide pass in a heartbeat
