hello everyone
I am new and joined a couple days and i don't know where to find the link to post something. I have a problem and need to post it for help.
My problem is that my jaguar's moon roof is leaking all along the back because when it closes it has a tiny gap. i was curious if the window track might be off, or has it just worn down it looks like it has ware but not bad enough for this.

Chris:
The moon roof is not designed to have a perfect seal. The water "leaks" through the crack into the secondary panel that slides behind the main moon roof and into the channel at the front. From there, it is carried away by drain hoses in the 4 corners. Open the roof and look carefully and I believe you will see the drains. Use a piece of coat hanger sized steel wire to root the drain tubes out. Also, assure the secondary panel is in the proper place and not slid back due to becoming unattached to the main panel.

There's plenty of advice on finding your way around the forum in the replies to your Intro:

Good to see your making progress with this leak issue.

You got it! The piece is almost certainly still in the car- just slid back. You can probably fish it back into position for the time being. There are some posts in the archives about fixing the wires that pull it back and forth. Unfortunately, parts for the moonroof assembly are not available as new, only the complete tracks or cartridge and boy are tehy expensive. BTW, as you look for info, the X-300 and X-308 units are the same.
Oh! and welcome to the forum.

I have never seen a glass panel on the X300 or X308.
The parts catalogue lists the glass panels for the X200 and the X400 as the earliest moonroof.
You might have a custom install or a creative adaptation of a similar panel.
(1)A glass panel would solve the paint match problem if the panel fades in the sun.
(2)A glass panel replacement might be something to market and make some money!!!!!!
