Default Help in finding 4.0 replacement motor

I am new to the forum,
I need to either find a replacement motor due to a broken timing chain or salvage my 99 VDP with only 72K miles. Any suggestions?

Fleabay, or a local junk yard. Most breakers are on a network, so go to a large yard nearby. expect to bay between 2K to 3K.

You have a minor chance that the chain broke and didn't bend any valves so repair would be VERY inexpensive- were you at speed when it broke or idling?

I plan to do the work next month, if you can wait a few weeks, I am interested. I understand there are 2 options depending on the VIN #. Can you provide to see if it is a match for mine?

TDFM- the options are AJ26 or AJ27. The AJ26 (early 99) has VVT solenoids on the front timing cover, AJ27 has them sticking out the top of the camshaft covers so the easy way to tell is to look at the cam covers and see if you have wires plugged into something that goes into holes at the top front part of the cam covers (AJ27)or wires going to the front of the engine facing the radiator (AJ26).
