Help!!!! Need dealer options/accessories list for the 1998 xjr
The Jag was totalled out today, by the insurance company and stated the dealer installed radar cannot be part of the settlement since it wasn't installed at the factory..
The K40 was a dealer option in 1998 correct?
I am looking for a list off on the accessory that was offered by the dealer for the XJR in 1998. Do anybody have this list?
Short story, Jaguar HK amp shorted and caught fire.
Will go into detail and post picture up tomorrow.
Thanks

I think the insurance company are trying to say that because the K40 radar was fitted by the dealer on their premises & not on the actual factory production line, that it's an 'aftermarket' accessory-even if it has been fitted by a dealer.
If it had been fitted by the factory at the time the car was actually manufactured on the production line, and was part of the build specification, then they would consider it an integral part of the complete car for valuation purposes.
I have a couple of old BMW's with 'BMW approved' dealer-fitted alarms & immobilisers. They were fitted by the dealer & the wiring was the usual untidy bird's nest.
The problem is that 'manufacturer approved' aftermarket accessories fitted by the dealer are not the same thing in law as 'manufacturer approved & manufacturer fitted' accessories at the time the car was built on the production line.

1999 Mercedes E430 w/Sports package at 131,000 miles. Silver on Silver.
Was going for a 2000 Mercedes E55 AMG for $11,900.00 w/99k miles, black on black, oh so sweet, but time I got there, a buyer was signing the papers. I was soooo soooo sad.
But the E430 should fit the family and I well, not producing 370HP!!!!!, but neither was my Jag, LOL!! I think 275HP is just enough HP for the just in case I need to move it will. Maybe do a little modding, I can get close to 300HP without going over board.
Almost got killed in the rental today, the 2011 VW Passat SUCKS!!!!!
