Cannot find the definitive answer to this....I got the XJR 3 months ago...80K...want to service the tranny, (no issues). Got the Dipstick tool off ebay and Mercedes ATF from an ebay vendor specifically for the 722.6 box...they sent me ATF134. It's red and smells like my cat's litter box. The fluid in my car is honey..clear and smells more like regular ATF or even Power Steering Fluid. Help...do I have the wrong fluid in my car? Is ATF134 the right Merc ATF or not?

 

if its an XJR and has a mercedes box it needs fluid that says mercedes not some cheap knock off.

 

agree..and that's what I ordered...and what arrived was in a Merc bottle...but was Red fluid...ATF134. Don't think it's right.

 

get it from a jag dealer or a mercedes dealer..

 

turns out to be Pentosin ATF1
