Maybe these twin screws are "magic" blowers
Nothing more magical than the 370rwhp on the Eatons.

As said I don't know what the bfsc is of our engines (a lot of parameters come to play here), so can't judge the output of the calculators.

Well, with all the calculators anything between .5 (normally aspirated) and up to .6 with forced induction including turbos, nothing shows coming even close to 450 rwhp, so I will just have to do the dynos and fortunately my guy can give the injector pulse witdth / duty cycle. I'll get these figures and report back.

So please confirm that 450 rwhp was on a 4.0 with stock fuel system

I can see that if people do both the upper and lower pulleys, the extra heat can reallly start to hurt power output. I'm going to try the different approach of keeping the stock pulley (but switching to a Gen 5 blower), and making the rest of the engine more efficient and see where that takes me.

This is a classic example of ones circle of awareness of one's own ignorance (mine) expanding with more information. This board is really helpful and informative.

I will post the pulse width / duty cycles from my dynos and fill in that blank. This would help a lot of people when deciding on what mods to make and how to go about it.

This was with the stock fuel system setup, that’s why I mentioned it.

Have a look at KenneBells website, you will find there also information that shows 450 rwhp on our engines with a twin-screw and 36lb/hr injectors is possible, or at least not odd.

Here for example:
http://www.kennebell.net/KBWebsite/SC_pg/Mustang%204.6%20(5-10)/layouts/mustang4.6(5-10).htm

They claim there with 39 lb injectors about 540rwhp, which is 635 ehp (0.85). Then you need to add (assume here) about 50 hp for the SC itself, so that brings you to about 685 hp in total for the 39lb/hr injectors.

Now bring that back to the 35.7 lb/hr jag injectors, that’s 35.7/39 * 685 = 627 total HP. Then I subtract about 60hp for the SC (a little higher as it runs more pressure), to get 567 ehp. Using the 0.83 drivetrain loss you get 471 rwhp.

Twin-screw Magic? Probably ;-)

Good references.

Thanks again for all the info. I'll just keep an eye on my A/F ratios and see what % duty cycle I'm using along the way.

Weeeee, we are off and running

Let the mods begin!
