Default High beam foot switch

I have a 2002 XJR.
Has anyone ever installed a switch in their footwell on the left side (where your foot rest is)?
I don't want it for high beams. But I do want an electronic switch that I can control with my LEFT foot. Anyone? 🙏🏻

Didn't cars from the 50's/60's have the high beam switch where the dead pedal is now?

Yes. I have it in my 1959 Ford Skyliner.
I'm thinking it isn't the best location after all, as I don't want to accidentally 'hit the switch', and there is very little foot room there already.

I believe up until the early 80's they had those. Or at very least, late 70's on American vehicles.

Anyone have a suggestion for a easily accessible switch for an 'aftermarket' product, and wiring hints?

Guitar stomp box switches come to mind. You'd obviously want one that's a switch and not a button. Maybe something like this if it's a toggle switch Carling 316-PP DPDT Footswitch

Wiring is available here http://jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepa.../jagxj2002.pdf

If you told us what you actually want the switch for, it would perhaps help you obtain some suggestions from members for a suitable location.

Why not fit a small rocker switch underneath the steering column shroud? I fitted one there on my old XJ, or perhaps inside the armrest cubby?

Doid you already buy the cutouts? If not, look into a remote control one

I did not buy them yet. I'm still in the research stage. I thought it would be fun to 'stomp on it' with both feet flat out, giving me me wide open throttle AND exhaust short cut out

Splice into the column harness and use the "telephone" button on the steering wheel as your on/off switch...prob a bit more work than you were asking for but it would be trick. It may function as a momentary switch if isolated, but a little crafty soldiering and good to go

I have a foot operated switch for the air horn and headlamp fashers on my 1964 Private Coach conversion.

Of course the lights are sealed beam and therefore like candles but the airhorn is very loud.

The exhaust noise of the 9.3 litre supercharged Detroit diesel is to die for and sounds like a V16 being a 2 stroke and all

I know others have installed cut outs, anyone know how they chose to switch them on to activate them ?
