High gearbox temp

I replaced a few ZF 5HP24 gearbox internal harnesses when I worked at the dealer back in the day.
The problem was usually a faulty thermistor in the harness but it is part of the harness.
You can monitor the temp if you have the right equipment but we can only guess without a proper diagnosis.

I am talking about monitoring the gearbox temp sensor that is part of the internal harness. You might rig up some way to measure the ACTUAL temp but the TCM relies on the thermistor as input.
The actual temp is usually fine but the internal sensor fails intermittently giving a false reading to the TCM that is triggering the DTC.
