Default how can I bypass for slcm for brake lights?

Okay, I have purchased a used module from ebay and thought this would fix my brake lights but NO! So i put my original module back in. I took it apart and nothing looks or smells burnt. I have tail lights, blinkers, rear fog but no brake lights on the tail light assembly. I do, however, have 3rd brake light that I've read isn't run through the module. Which wires have to be wired directly to bypass the module so that I have brake lights? I read where a few people have done this to get rid of that part of the module but which wires are they? Thanks!

Default No tail lights

There is a chip in the module that goes bad. I had a right out wire the left to the right and burned out the 2nd chip a couple of months later. I saw a diagram of the wires into the module and the wires out a while back. It looke like you could jumper around the module but I have not tried it. You have a couple of options.

1. Look in another thread. Ther is a guy in TX who repairs the module his name is Jack and the thread references the right rear tail light.

2. Find a diagram of the wiring and consider jumping it. Be careful of the 3rd brake light I am not sure if it goes through the module or not.

3. Get a used module it must have the same part number and codes

4. Buy a new module for $700 or more.

Good luck with it an I hope this helps.

I have seen the threads and I did purchase a new used module which is the same problem as the one I have. There is no chips inside like the ones I saw on the pictures on the site here. I have read guys that went around the module but just wanted to see pics or instructions on how and what wires. The 3rd brake light does not go through it at all so not worried about that.

If you connect the rear brake lights through the High Mounted Stop Lamp relay you will still get the 'FAILURE' indication even though the lights are now working.
The SLCM will still fault the failed component. (annoying??)
