Default How can I tell if my alignment is good?

I purchased this 1998 xJ8 VDP with 44,000 car and it came with Pirelli P6000 tires on it that are like new. The car rides very nice. I am however concerned, I had a jaguar 1985 xj6 ( 1st one ) years ago that I bought used and it also had new tires on it. Owner covering up the bad suspension and it ate through a set of tires in no time ( I did not know it ). The front suspension springs were shot. The car wore the inside of the front tires off.

The reason for my concern is that the car already has P6000s on it and the spare in the trunk is the old style P4000s. That means it is on its second set ( that would be OK ) or maybe 3rd set ( BAD ) at 44,000. I am not sure and neither is the previous owner. So, is there a way I can tell if this car is set up right without getting it aligned?

For the record, I would rather pay for an alignment now as opposed to going through tires. Also, does the Jag need a special set up to align? I was going to take the car to a place not far away that has the Hunter Road force system.

for your own piece of mind a laser alignment check will cost no more than $100. I use a top draw body specialist who carries work out for dealership via insurance claims. They charge me £55. Cheaper than one tire.

^^^This.

When I bought my XJ8 the inside of the tires were eaten up past the metal mesh. Cost me $75US to get everything checked and aligned while I got a new set of tires put on.
