How concerning are these panel gaps?
I'm currently looking at a 2000 XJR. The Carfax and owner say it had a collision on the front right corner in a parking lot back in 2004 or something. Obviously it's been repaired and driven quite a bit since then, so I suppose mechanically it's alright. What do you think of the panel gaps between the hood and the headlights? Is this something that can be adjusted by, I don't know, loosening the hood bolts and shifting it around a little?

The surrounds of the headlights lenses with back reflector in their separate carrier can be adjusted and would be a easier try
So we are looking at 3 parts below the hood panel , the headlight lens , lens carrier / attach point and the painted surrounds at the very front
Be careful to label the lens before removal as if installed out of order will effect the way the final assembly looks and fairs in to the hood and may be your original issue
The V manufacture label in the very front glass lens may be a quick check as they should be up and straight facing

And
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/ item # 9 . notice # 12 screw allows surrounds adjustment for and aft and on a serrated / grooved plate

Now I see the pictures and I have to do the same to my X300 as it also was replaced after a accident
I proposed only loosening one hinge at a time as the whole hood in the air can shift catastrophically away from you
The original hinges may have been damaged and bent out of shape to where the hood does not suck down on the front
believe it or not I have seen the hinge on E - bay
There may be a difference between the X300 and X308 hinges as the hood assembly is a different # if I recall correctly
and the part # would be here
left and right hinges are different
