Question How to correctly jack a 2001 xj8?

I am finding nothing on jacking points- how do I jack this up without damage?
Thank you!

Did someone remove the jacking beams? There should be four square beams, one behind both front wheels and one in front of both back wheels under the rocker panels. You either place a floor Jack under them or remove the plug and put the factory jack in them.

Depends on what you want to do. I usually jack with a trolley jack under the front crossmember, or the differential at the rear, and then place axle stands under those side jacking points previously referred to.

+1 on using crossmembers, kind of difficult to jack up at the jacking points and put a stand under there at the same time, as well as only jacking up one side of the car at a time

If I'm relying on a jack stand and the wheels staying on I just put a ramp under the wheel as the safety catch instead of a stand, if the wheels coming off I leave the Jack under the Jack beam and put the Jack stand under the cross member as the safety catch.

Default Floor Jack points

I am nervous that using a floor jack or jack stand under the square hollow jacking beams might crush the square opening, especially if the whole side of the car is lifted (to rotate the tires) . That's not a danger, right?

I've done it plenty of times using multiple floor jacks, and those square tubes have never so much as squeaked out of square. You'll be fine

Jack under the front crossmember or under diff, a pair of jackstands under the corresponding square jack tubes. And wheel chocks under the opposite axle wheels. I always try to avoid jacking one side up and stressing the chassis that way, I've heard from a couple members where that tweaked their front end alignment just slightly.

As long as those jack tubes aren't rusty then they should be fine to support the weight of the car. Worst case they're just steel square tubes that would be cheap to replace and reweld.
