Welcome to the forums. In the future you want the X308 forum.

There is a key slot between the X and J. It may be frozen due to lack of use in which case repeated dosing with penetrating oil and trying to turn the key should free it up.

Or, open the bonnet and locate one of the fuse boxes which will have a positive post you can connect with a jumper cable or battery charger. But don't try to start the engine that way.

Welcome to the forum bigpaul,

I've moved your question from XK8/XKR to X308 forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

On the boot lid are two badges. Left the Jaguar and right your model. Integrated in the right badge is the keyhole for the boot lid lock. You might need to flood it with WD40 or so first, as they tend to clog up.
